Rapper Kafani is in critical condition after being shot and injured in Oakland last night.
According to 24HourHipHop.com, Kafani, whose real name is Amir Ashad,was on his way to shoot a music video to his Philthy Rich diss song “Philthy You a Verse Lick” on Seminary Avenue and Foothill Boulevard at about 11:35 pm last night.
Kafani was reportedly shot at five times, suffered at least one gunshot wound, and is now in critical condition at an Oakland Hospital.
The rapper is currently involved in a rap beef with fellow Bay Area Rapper Philthy Rich and sources indicate the beef may have something to do with the shooting.
24HourHipHop.com also reports that Kafani, who is known for songs like “She Ready Now” and “Fast (Like a Nascar),” has already gone through 2 surgeries and is holding on by a thread.
No suspect information was immediately available and no arrests have been made, according to Oakland Police.
